Leuze Now Guide – Getting to Know the Products (Series 3C)
The 3C series is the sensor solution for almost any application.
Features Include:
- Power reserve: ultra-long ranges, short response times, durable housing material with metal sleeves, IP69K & ECOLAB tested, auto sensitivity adjustment (tracking)
- Easy handling: IO-Link interface for process control and parameter setting.
- Think modular: two housing types, all functional principles incl. lasers, autocollimation, special light spots, ASIC inside
The 3C series can be found in our extended segment for general applications. It has multipurpose features and is function-optimized, as shown in the picture below.
All our 3C products are considered Optical Sensors. Optical sensors use light in various forms to perform their detection tasks. Detecting objects on different surfaces, sizes, and colors requires various function principles, such as a through-beam photoelectric sensor, a retro-reflective photoelectric sensor, or a diffuse reflection sensor.
In the Leuze Now Guide, the focus is on two sensors: Diffuse Sensors with background suppression (Standard models with LED and laser) and Retro-reflective photoelectric sensors.
Diffuse sensors with background suppression – Compact, Reliable, Function Optimized:
- Clear containers & films, shiny, colorful packaging.
- Stretch-wrapped pallets, any color boxes/totes
- Detect package contents.
- Reliable detection of objects while simultaneously suppressing the background.
- Operating ranges up to 3 m.
- Intuitive adjustment of the operating range using the spindle and teach button.
- Red-light background sensors for simple and fast alignment.
- Infrared diffuse sensors also detect objects with color with the slightest offset.
- Laser diffuse sensors are used to detect the most miniature objects or with beam guidance through an opening.
Retro-reflective photoelectric sensors:
- The transmitter and receiver are in the same housing, opposing reflector
- Special sensors for transparent media or tiny objects.
- Models for foil-wrapped pallets or highly accurate positioning.
- Reliable detection, even with reflective objects.
- Operating ranges up to 24 m
- Highly accurate positioning through tiny laser light spots.
