Telemecanique Wireless/Battery-Less Limit Switches
Mechanical limit switches are used almost everywhere in industrial automation. They confirm product position, and send that information to the plc or controller, typically via wires.
Telemecanique recently introduced a totally unique alternative to wired limit switches, by using an industry standard protocol, wireless Zigbee, at 2.4 Ghz. The dynamo action from the plunger generates sufficient energy to eliminate the need for a battery, and the internal antenna is protected from adverse elements. With a protection rating is IP-66 & 67, it can be used in some of the most harsh environments. The limit switch’s range is up to 100 meters to the paired receiver, in free-field applications, but extension of the range is possible with accessories. The single receiver module, located remotely in the control panel, can monitor either up to 32, or up to 60, wireless limit switches. Several different forms of the product size and functionality are offered, depending on the application needs. Each Telemecanique wireless limit switch has its own IP address, so it’s status is uniquely identified by the single receiver.
